ROBERT PLANT On VH1 Classic
October 22, 2003VH1 Classic will air a one-hour "Robert Plant Special" on November 1 and 4 to coincide with the release of his solo career "best of" double album, "66 to Timbuktu". The show will feature an interview with Robert (during which he talks of his experiences at The Festival in the Desert 2003) and will include footage of Robert recorded at the festival. This footage is also part of a forthcoming "Festival in the Desert" DVD documentary, which is scheduled to be released in the U.S. by World Village in 2004. Plant's live-in-the-Sahara rendition of "Win My Train Fare Back Home (If I Ever Get Lucky)" is featured on the new CD, "Festival in the Desert" (World Village).
"66 to Timbuktu" is due on November 4 through Atlantic Records. The 35-track set includes not only Plant's own solo hits, but also pre-ZEPPELIN solo tracks from 1966-67 along with various collaborations he's done before and after ZEPPELIN.
